Top 3 Sandwich Boxes
Having a sandwich box is very convenient. If you are like me and many other people, you can waste lots of plastic bags every year trying to cram your sandwich inside only to find that it was smashed by the other food in your lunch bag.
Sandwich boxes are very nice, but how do you know which one you should buy? It can be annoying to buy something like a sandwich box and it just plainly doesn’t work as well as you feel it should. The lid breaks, the plastic is super thin, the lid doesn’t fit right… it goes on and on.
I compiled this list of what I believe are the best sandwich boxes on the market right now.
Third place goes to the Uno Stainless Steel Lunch Box from LunchBots.
It costs about 12 dollars for a single container.
This sandwich box serves its purpose; it holds sandwiches! It is a relatively small size which is very nice for fitting into your lunch bag.
You can’t count on this container to hold anything but dry foods because the lids do not provide a water tight seal. This wouldn’t be a problem if you are only planning on using it for sandwiches.
This sandwich box is made out of stainless steel, so it is very durable. The lid is plastic, but it is BPA free plastic, which is good.
Note: BPA is a material used to make a lot of plastic containers. Studies have shown that BPA can seep into foods and make them cause harmful effects. So it is a very good thing if a plastic container is BPA free!
One thing you will want to know before you buy this sandwich box is the lid is not dishwasher safe. You will have to wash the lid by hand, but the base is OK to put in the dishwasher. The lid isn’t hard to clean, but it is a bit of an inconvenience.
2. Snap N' StackNumber 2 in this list is the Snap N’ Stack from Snapware.
It costs about eight dollars, which isn’t bad. It will survive the dishwasher and you can put it into the microwave.
This is a very cool product because of the fact that it has two layers! You can fit twice the amount of food in this container. It is nice because you can separate your sandwich from anything that can leak.
This container is BPA free, which is a plus.
Despite all the good things about this container, there are some down sides:
Some people get the idea that one of the sections has a divider in it for splitting up vegetables and other foods. However, it does not have a divider so do not expect there to be one.
Because this is a two layer sandwich box, it takes up more space. The bottom (regarding size) is that it is more difficult to fit this box into your lunch bag than the others and it takes up more storage space.
1. Perfect Sandwich Lunch ContainerThe number one best sandwich box is the Perfect Sandwich Lunch Container from Contain This.
This is a little more expensive than the other two, coming to a total of 13 dollars.
It is a great size for you normal sandwich, but keep in mind that it does not fit extra wide bread sized sandwiches.
This is definitely the best engineered sandwich box on the market.
Contain This has added to this container what they call “perfect chill” which is supposed to keep your sandwich, or other food, below 40 degrees F for 5 hours and under room temperature for 8 hours. This is far better than any other sandwich box out there.
What really makes this cool is it is basically an ice pack that is a part of the container! You take it out and put it in the freezer until you want to use it.
A really great feature of this product is you can separate the wet ingredients (like meats) from the dry ingredients (the bread).
This ultimately solves the problem of having a sort of soggy sandwich. You do not have to have this feature, you can either have the platform propped up, or you can have it pushed to the bottom of the container so you can fit the whole sandwich in one space.
The plastic that they use is BPA free and extremely durable. You don’t have to wash it by hand as you can put it through the dishwasher without worrying about it being destroyed.
There is not much to complain about with this container other than I have heard of a couple people complaining that their sandwiches still got soggy. I do not think you will have that problem, however.
The Perfect Sandwich Lunch Container really does seem to be the ideal sandwich container.
I hope this helped you make a decision as to which container you should spend your money on. If you know of any other good sandwich containers, or if you have any questions or comments, feel free to leave them below.
